Angels of the North Country
A new and innovative way to fund rural touring theatre through private subscription and community investment.
Following the devastating news that North Country Theatre's regular funding from Arts Council England will be completely withdrawn from 2012 we have come up with a new and innovative way to help keep the company on the road.
Our Angels scheme invites individuals, households, businesses, schools, community groups etc to invest in the company by
- pledging to make a minimum donation of £100 a year for the next three years.
- sponsoring a production
- making a one off donation.
We have produced a prospectus detailing how this can be done and you can either download a pdf here or we can post one out to you please contact us and send us a mailing address.

By knowing what money will be coming in, on top of the earned income, we will be able to budget sensibly and plan productions and educational work to suit. Just 400 angels could replace all our lost arts council funding.
A Host of Angels
A group of friends or colleagues, a school, a parish council, or a village hall committee can buy into the scheme as a group.
'Given the outstanding popularity of North Country's work and our long track record of really good theatre performed in rural areas we know that our loyal following and many promoters in village halls and rural theatres across the region were shocked by the ACE decision - but we have been buoyed by the many messages of support and the host of Angels that have started to bless the company with their financial support.'
