British aristocrat Rudolph Rassendyll is distantly related to the royal family of Ruritania and when vising for the coronation of his cousin the Crown Prince, he is discovered to be a double for the drunken and dissolute monarch. Rebellion, Romance and Mistaken Identify follow as our dashing hero saves the day with swordplay and subterfuge and beautiful Princess Flavia is forced to choose between her heart and her duty.
